SHORELINE PARK . SAN FRANCISCO

In collaboration with the surrounding neighborhood, this former power-plant site, a half-mile stretch of San Francisco Bay shoreline, was remediated to provide a public park that provides a positive space for folks to walk, gather, and play.

Extensive community input and feedback culminated in a meandering, lush, highly functional park that fosters connection to the waterfront and history of the area.  There are moments along the shared bicycle, skating, and walking path of gathering, independent pause. Elements of steel with quotes from community members were inserted into bench seats, and  info-graphics were cut into steel partitions narrate the story of a resilient community exercising its voice.

This stretch of park is enjoyed by many daily visitors, birds, and insects. We feel incredibly privileged to have been a small part of this area’s story and see this project come to life.
